I know it has been ages since I last did a post, I’m at not doing too well at this!
If it’s any excuse, one of the things I have been busy doing is making a quilt for my new little niece.
I’d never made one before but it was surprisingly easy and very satisfying.
It was made from wide stripes which I’m sure is quicker than lots of little squares.
Seeing as I’m a quilting novice, I needed step-by-step instructions and I followed one of the projects in ‘Sew Darn Cute‘ by Jenny Ryan. This is a lovely book to dip into and I’ve tried quite a few of the projects, I really recommend it.
I bought my fabric from Fabric Rehab, which is like an online sweet shop of fun and colourful fabric including retro inspired/Scandinavian/bird/animal prints. Beware – it’s VERY addictive. I can’t tear myself away from it, and find myself poring over all the lovely patterns late at night until my eyes go boggly.
